Place of Refuge

Painted en plein air at Honaunau-Napo'opo'o-Ke'ei near Kona, Hawaii during a very high mid-afternoon surf. For me, there's nothing like observing the sheer power of nature slamming water into the lava rocks on the big island.

I loved the active spray obliterating the whole scene and tried to capture that.
