Cascading Blossoms

I love painting water liles with unseen foliage and sky outside the field of view. The play of varying layers of transparency juxtaposed by passages of texture is an engaging pursuit for me. The focus of water lily flowers, pads weaving from front to back in a "z" pattern, overlapped with grasses to add depth, warm to cool is my process. I've painted many small lily studies from life and incorporate those memories.
