Artist Statement: Hay Bales at Inspirit Farm
The rolling fields of my farm have always been a sanctuary to me, a place of quiet reflection and deep connection with the land. Last summer, the sight of freshly rolled hay bales caught my attention—their sheer mass, the way the light played across their surfaces, creating rich textures and golden hues. It was a scene that felt both timeless and deeply personal.

I’ve long wanted to paint my farm, but it wasn’t until this moment that I found the perfect inspiration. The vast Michigan sky, ever-changing and luminous, added its own presence to the composition, anchoring the landscape in a way that feels both expansive and intimate.
