I am a private pilot and plein air painter in watercolor. This painting brings together my passions. Flying over the mountains from Steamboat Springs to Denver takes about 1 hour in the Cessna. Every time I see the mountains meet the plains, I have to take a picture. This one's composition and time of year made it the perfect subject to paint.
