Southport Beach

This was a private commission. The client wanted a Connecticut water scene as a wedding gift for their daughter. This beach happens to be near my home and was the perfect solution. I have always been inspired by the sun on a summer late afternoon and how it grazes across the eel grass and lawn of the estate in the background, creating warm greens against the blue water. The egret was actually there when I shot the photo for this painting.
