The mouth of the Sauble River holds a special place in my heart. My great-grandfather was the first white settler to call this land his own, it was a place I spent my youth and it holds many memories of family and friends. I originally captured the color notes for this piece en plein air, and my mind wandered through the years as I picked it up in the studio and created a few versions of the sun setting over Lake Huron.
