Threshing Barn at Belle Isle State Park

I have memories of painting this barn with thick red paint and giant brushes with my ex-husband (a house painter) and our kids when the property was first taken on as a state park. In the years since, I’ve plein air painted in this park many times capturing mostly the water views, but this was the first time I was out painting on my own in the park and decided to set up in the park ranger’s parking lot and captured this scene. I’ve gotten braver and now go out on my own at least once a week to paint.
