Point Lobos Morning on the Rocks

This painting was inspired by my photos and quick sketches I made while walking the trails at Pt. Lobos, south of Carmel CA on a fine January day. This rock with its birds is at the end of the trail at the north end of the park over looking Blue Fish Cove. I loved the light on the rock and the gulls in the sun and knew I had to turn my experience into a painting.
