Hiking the San Dimas Trail

Painting done in water soluble oils and linseed oil added. I was captivated by how the shadows fell across the sun lit trail, and the vista looking out into the valley, giving the painting real perspective. I used muted blues and greens for the distant landscape. The complements of purple and yellow across the trail worked well.
