Parting Wreath of Summer

The first harvested tomato of summer has a full dose of sensory nostalgia. For the gardener so does the last, poignant with hope for another year. The pulled up vines tangle and twine naturally and, reluctant to toss them, I wound and hung them, creating a still life in the last light of the afternoon.
