A painting I worked on from my plein air colour notes. It shows the winding river Suðurá over which looms the silhouette of a mountain called Vífilsfell in Iceland. Late summer is a wonderful time to catch these iconic landmarks! The overcast weather gave the distant mountain a touch of mystery yet the foreground, full of vegetation, was alive with colour which the winding river carved a path through.
