This painting was done on a very cold January morning in 2025. It was painted alla prima in the same way I paint in Plein Air. Looking out a window from my home with the same view as my studio, a fallen tree from hurricane Helene caught my eye with all the beauty in the distant mountains. It was early morning and a sense of peace and gratitude filled my mind as I painted.
