Centenarian

The tree was so magnificent I was inspired to do a massive painting. So large was the canvas I didn’t fit my easel , so I just leaned it against my tripod and I sat on the ground in the park. It took three sessions to complete it working as fast as I could from the ground up. People gasped when they saw the tree. It was the showpiece of the magnificent Autumn color in 2024 in CT. A special moment. The competition says 100% plein air. So I didn’t fix the splashes of turpentine at the bottom of the canvas.
