Fire Weed After a Forest Fire
After a Forest Fire, Fireweed blooms in abundance especially in and around the burnt trees. Bee keepers in the Yukon, Alaska, and throughout northern BC often move their hives into the charred forests to follow the fireweed.
I painted this scene from photos I took of a nearby fire to remember the burnt forests that were lost, but are slowly coming back to life.
