The Royal Spoonbill is a wading bird, with long legs and a spoon-shaped bill, which they use to catch prey by making a side-to-side movement. Ibises, also have long legs and long necks, but on the other hand they have long, curved beaks used for probing in the mud for food. They are however the closest relative spoonbills have. Both Ibis and Spoonbills are excellent indicators of wetland health. I liked the interplay of similar species but with differences that I could use to create an artistic comedy whilst paying homage to the beauty of the setting.
