Walk in the Snow

Walk in the Snow, Landscape
Walk in the Snow
This painting represents a change in my life beginning at 60. After I left a long career in retail management, I began flying on a private plane visiting many areas in the United States and around the world.
I also began to revisit my first love of art and started to practice painting again. This painting is from snow shoeing on one of my trips to Aspen Colorado. Being in the brilliance of the sky, sunshine, and snow captured my senses and burnt into my mind's eye the beauty of the surroundings.
In my practice I used different mediums, most of my painting are mixed medium. I begin my process by playing on the substrate building layers and history. I enjoy having someone look close at my work because that is where you find the marks, scratches, depth, and energy that go into each painting. I enjoy using color in my work to express the soul of each piece.
As I continue on my artistic path, I plan to work on a body of painting to celebrate my travels and the adventures life has given me during this latter part of my life. Hopefully you will be able to travel along with me.
