There's no comparison to the blue you find in the Southwestern deserts where they are contrasted with the red rock and sand. This scene is from Canyon Lands in Utah. I have memories laying on my back on the roof rack of our old FJ60 Land Cruiser and looking up at the towering redrock cliffs and the blue sky above.
