This painting is from a trip I made to the Grand Staircase-Escalante in Southern Utah. We dropped down into a canyon where the river winds between towering redrock cliffs. Along the way, we came across many Native American pictographs on the cliff faces. The light in the dessert bounces into the shadows and lights up the trees in neon greens.
